Voices from Within
A film documenting the moving voices of Palestinian and Jewish activists in Israel who have been fighting for justice under extreme conditions since 7 October 2023 - with stories of grief, resistance and unwavering hope.
On November 24 and 25, 2024, a group of diverse activists – Palestinian and Jewish citizens of Israel, political and social activists deeply rooted in their respective communities – gathered at the offices of the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung in Tel Aviv. These activists have been long-standing partners of the RLS Israel office in their commitment to political, economic, and social justice for all people in Israel. Since October 7, 2023, they are facing even more existential conditions than before, making their work more important than ever. We asked them to answer a series of questions on camera regarding their experiences and reflections over the past nearly 14 months, and capture their moving and inspiring responses for a German-speaking audience in this film.
This project arose from the desire of our staff to create space for personal-political stories that often go unheard. It brings together authentic testimonies of grief, struggle, but also hope and unwavering strength from people who have been living in war for almost a year and a half, yet continue to speak, act, and hope for a better future.
We are grateful for their willingness to share their stories with us and the interested audience. They provide personal insights while also offering broader political reflections on the current untenable situation. Last but not least, this film documents that there are still progressive voices in Israel who, more than ever, need the solidarity and support of the international left.
